C.C. Bates is an Associate Professor in Literacy Education at Clemson University in South Carolina, where she is the Director of the Reading Recovery and Early Literacy Center. C.C. has a Ph.D. from Georgia State University in Language and Literacy, and she is a former classroom teacher and reading interventionist.
