Executive Assistant

We are looking for an Executive Assistant to be the "right arm" for our President and COO, managing all aspects of these executives' business lives while learning about our operations, products and processes. Your work will include calendar management; meeting coordination; preparing meeting support materials; attending internal meetings, taking notes and distributing meeting minutes; organizing and maintaining files; answering phones; and managing travel schedules (domestic and international).

The ideal candidate will have a strong operational background and understanding, with the ability to anticipate needs and problems and find solutions. You should have at least three years of experience supporting high-level executives, the ability to understand our operations and navigate through them, experience dealing with highly confidential data, and strong Microsoft office skills. You should be detail-oriented and accurate, have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and be comfortable juggling multiple tasks. Patience and flexibility are key. BA/BS required.


Senior Project Editor

We're looking for senior level Project Editor who will be responsible for all phases of development of new literacy products -- from research and planning to production – for ESL/EFL and Science projects. Working with your colleagues from various departments, you&##9;ll research and analyze market needs; develop concepts and propose new products; plan, manage and participate in the product development process; and contribute to marketing and sales efforts.

The successful candidate will have a B.A. in English, education, or a related field (M.A. a real plus) and at least eight years of experience developing supplemental literacy materials for an educational book publisher. You'll need superior writing, editing and project management skills, up-to-date knowledge of language, literacy and content issues, as well as solid experience working on ESL/EFL or science products.

You should be comfortable juggling several projects concurrently, and enjoy collaborating with other departments (e.g., design and marketing) to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget. You'll also need excellent communication and organizational skills and offer the proven ability to lead and mentor others. Teaching experience is a plus.


Graphic Design/Production Freelancers

Our creative team produces four-color books for grades K-12, teacher support materials, promotions and more in a fast-paced, creative environment. We are looking for a fast-working individual who can move between design and production. You should have excellent attention to detail for photo retouching, photocomposition and pre-press work and an excellent design sense. All work will be done on-site, not remotely. Although the position starts as a project-based freelancer, there is potential to move into a full-time position.

Expert Photoshop, Quark, InDesign, HTML and Illustrator skills required. College degree preferred.


Warehouse Associates

We're looking for entry-level and experienced Warehouse workers to join our busy warehouse, located in West Nyack, New York.   Duties will include picking and packing orders, shipping and receiving, and general warehouse duties.   You must be able to lift boxes weighing 30 to 40 pounds and be willing to work overtime (including some weekends) when needed.   Experience assembling complex orders and forklift certification are helpful.
